God created us for our potential, not for our presence.

God lures us with persisting voices to goodness;
tempts us to go the way of right, the best option.

Over millennia, the moral and spiritual compass of man
has evolved from brutal mindless aggression
to the sort of morality that many hold today,
following the lure of God to care for others
though still usually second to ourselves.
Where might we go from here?

The purposes of any God surely requires that mankind's evolution
takes us further onward on the route to ultimate holiness,
from morality to love of others without thought of self;
to love as a God might love, in God's very image
to be equally loving, loved and lovable.

The purposes of God must lie in leading us
towards that perfect state of existence
which Jesus is said to have called
the Kingdom of Heaven.
