If God is real, then God is also good,
for goodness is defined by what God is,
and is reflected in all that we see as worthy;
all in which there is no condemnation.


God, said Jesus, is Love
the ultimate goodness in human relationships.
God exists, as may a mother hen, from love;
needs something to be loved, to care for;
a focus of that divine energy.

Love exposes our deepest feelings
makes us vulnerable to others
leaves us open to hurt
and wonder.

Love causes us to give
to surrender self for others
to forgive their faults or failings
to glory in what others have achieved.

It is to such love that God calls us
following the path that God has laid
behaving as God would do to others
and challenging them to join us.
