The resources of the world have been captured by the few.
Whilst some live in luxury, others suffer in penury.
There are vast inequalities of per capita income
and the ability to obtain even basic foodstuff.
The inevitable consequence is envy
leading to crime and conflict.
This division is most dangerous when it lies
along racial or sexual lies of difference;
when the group identities are obvious.
The problem for humanity is not just poverty
but is inequality of opportunity
and access to resources.
The problem can only proliferate into conflict
unless we can learn to love our neighbour
in a practical fashion.
