These statements are said to define the Christian faith,
yet they barely touch on what is really important about it.
They ignore what Jesus taught as he defined how we should live;
They ignore what Jesus did to show us how we should live and die.
It is an anachroism, fighting old battles,
when there are other challenges to be met
in our time.
It exposes the irrelevance of Christianity today
as presented, and lived, by most churches in our time.
Yet it is held onto grimly by the clerical hierarchy
despite exposing the cause of the church's demise.
