The very nation was being crucified.
This story could be a parable for the nation;
painting its suffering and destruction as a human life.
The agony of the Cross reflected the agony of the land.

Do we in our literal reading of the tale
misunderstand the whole story of the Gospels
taking a tale written in code against the oppressors
as the story of a redemptive human figure,
or even a participator of divinity?
Was this metamorphis the true genius
of those early church fathers?
Can the story of Jesus be seen
as a history of the Jewish nation
in a time of occupation, desecration
and finally deportation?
