Mut-em-ua, the virgin Queen of Egypt, was said to have given birth
to the Pharaoh Amenkept who built the temple of Luxor.
The Egyptian God Ra (2500BC) was said to have been born
of a virgin mother, Net, and to have had no father.
Horus (2400BC onward) was said
to be the child of the Virgin Mother, Isis.
Their statues were taken over by Christians and renamed.
Attis, the Phrygian god, (1250BC-100sAD) was said to be
born on 25th December to the son of the virgin Nana,
The Grecian God Dionysos (or Bacchus)was said to be
born on 25th December as the son of Zeus
out of the virgin goddess Persephone.
Perseus was said to have been born of a virgin;
It is a story which Justin Martyr (100s AD)
stigmatizes as an invention of the Devil,
who "counterfeited the virgin birth of Jesus
before it really took place".
