Perhaps the Beatitudes are the heart of the teaching of Jesus,
or a ladder climbing from the openness of being willing to change,
through the sanctity of goodness, to the struggles of persecution.
Perhaps the common term "Blessed" means:
Happy, Fulfilled, and loved by God
5.3.. Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
5:4..Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
5:5..Blessed are the gentle,
For they shall inherit the earth.
5:6..Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
5:7..Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.
5:8..Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
5:9..Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called children of God.
5:10..Blessed are those who have been persecutedfor righteousness' sake,
For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
5:11."Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you,
and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
