The Revolutionary

LINKED TO THE PARABLES

The Humble Guest

Written at a time of revolutionary fever,
arising from extreme resource inequalities,
the tale of Jesus can be seen as a call to rise up
to promote, create, the Kingdom of God
displace the Roman occupiers.

Do the Gospel tales hide a call to insurrection;
to displace the heathen occupying power
and their lackeys in the Temple?
Are they a call for revolution?

Are they but an example of Jewish spiritualisation
of the ordinary things of life?

Do tales of healing conceal
the reality of conversion to "The Cause "?

Was Jesus a charismatic leader of dissent,
the undercover initiator of a call to arms,
the leader that we have long awaited,
the Messiah?
